DVD to WMV9 with WMA9 Professional 5.1 Channel Surround Sound using
AviSynth

This guide is intended to use if you using Microsoft® Windows® XP/2003 and want to archive DVDs to
one CD.
If your movie is more than 150 minutes long, you should consider encoding
the DVD to two CDs.
Note: Although encoding needs a Microsoft® Windows® PC, playback is possible
in Mac OS and Linux.
Software requirements
If any of these above applications fail to load in
your system, you will have to download the latest VB6 Run-time files and/or
Microsoft .NET Framework from Microsoft.com.

Instructions
- Install DVD Decrypter
- Install AviSynth
- Tip: Have all the other
applications in a single folder e.g. DVD to WMV9
- If you are using InterVideo
Audio Decoder be sure you to configure it for
6 channels
- Check whether your VOB files
are rendered in a recommended
way.
- Reinstall Windows Media
Encoder even if you have already have it installed (to make sure you have
original Windows Media run-time files)
Hardware requirements
- Intel® Pentium® 4 2.0 GHz or above for WMV9 encoding
- Intel® Pentium® III 800 MHz
or above for WMV8 encoding
- 16X or above DVD ROM
- Free Hard Disk space of at least 10 GiB
Encoding speeds may vary depending on your PC’s
performance and the DVD
