How to avoid Audio Video Synchronization errors

Avoid ripping scratched DVDs

If you are trying to rip a DVD that is scratched, there is possbililty that you get read errors while decrypting the DVD. Although DVD Decrypters can skip Read errors, they cause audio and video to be not synced. Although BeSweet could adjust the audio delay found in DGIndex, damage caused by corrupted AC3 files is unrecoverable.

Choose 1-pass CBR for both Audio and Video

Despite which method you choose, this could happen rarely. Although DGIndex would output an AC3 file with 0ms delay such as season2disk1 AC3 T01 1_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 Windows Media Encoder could create a WMV file with audio and video not synced. With VOB file as the source file audio and video sync errors are more common. If this is the case with you, try 1-pass CBR for both audio and video. Having 1-pass CBR only for audio would not solve the problem.
